Another noob question from me

zkgraves -> Another noob question from me (3/21/2008 3:09:43 PM)

Im just now getting into car and truck performance.. i know a little about them.. along the lines of diagnosing problems and doing my own repairs most of the time..I got a 2006 Silverado Vortec V6 and im looking to get a lil more power out of my truck.. I use RP oil and lube for everything, flowmaster 40 single in dual out, K&N intake, new acdelco plugs and the truck came with acdelco wires.. anyone have anyother ideas? Would a programmer be a waste of money or good investment?

I dont know to much about helping out V6's but it helped me with my 8, it was one of the better things I did to my truck.

to be a little more specific it takes a second for it to get up and go, but once it does it hauls ass.. until 99 and the dang thing shuts off.. i want to get more low end i guess is what its called, more initial get up and go..

i would say bump up your gears a lil
and a hypertech will give you a lil more 15 or so HP
then maybe the gears should give you a lil more off the line
and with the hypertech you can change your top end MPH shut off and your Rev. Limitter.

The power programmer will give you the biggest bang for your buck!

hypertech will let you change your shift points for better low end- that's what i did and it made a difference for me on the low end- i cant tell a spec of difference on the high end
