Rear end grinding and exhaust manifold

Hi, I have a 83 s10 blazer.

I just ordred a new exhaust manifold which I plan on putting it in tomorrow... It came with 2 springs and I don't know where those go yet...........

Also I posted before that I have a grinding noise probly coming from the rear of my blazer. Someone responded telling me I should check to see if theres adequate fluid in the differential. Then he also mentioned I should unbolt my pumpkin and check to see if metal shards come out.

This blazer is a manual. 2 wheel drive too. When I unbolt the pumpkin will just a plate come off explosing the inside? Or will multiple parts go everwhere?

Also how much fluid should I put in the differential in the rear?

Thanks everyone.
