russ27444 -> 1500 motor rev at 2000 (3/16/2008 1:00:37 PM)

i have a 1996 chevy 1500 with 305 5.0 v8 and a 5 speed transmission some times revs at 2000rpm have tried cleaning throttle body ran scan says i need mass air flow sensor has anyone else had this problem dont want to buy mass air flow sensor with out other ideas really need help
