depends on how much you use the back seat. you can build custom boxes to go under the rear seat, can fit tens in sealed boxes but usually have to raise the rear seat to do it depending on the subs. Of course you can always take the back seat out completely and put anything you want back there. As for equipment, I am a Rockford Fosgate fan myself. I have the RF 9210 Head Unit - cd/mp3/am/fm, its a good unit, but its a couple years old, havent looked at them in awhile, so im not sure what the new ones are exactly. I also have 2 8" Fosgate HEs in a custom made ported box behind the seat of my standard cab. Those are also a couple years old and are the old style. The new ones are even better than the ones I have. Of course, Fosgate is my preference, there are many other good brands out there and everyone says that theirs is the best. Moving on to mids and highs - Components are something to look at very seriously they are much better at reproducing quality sound than 2 or 3 way speakers. I have infinity reference 6-1/2" components in the doors. I aslo have 4"x6" infinity reference 2 ways behind the seat. The amp you choose will depend on your subs and if you want to run mids/highs off it too, just match it or them to the rest of your system. This stuff gets pretty expensive. I have about 2 grand in mine and i did the install and built the box myself and of course now that i am going deaf i need (want) more. Sorry for such a long post. Hope this helped and didnt confuse you.
