i'm looking at a 84 chevy p/u 3/4 ton w/ a 350/t400, the trans is a t400. but i can't seem to cross the casting number off the block. it looks like VO51511S(F) or (E), or VO518115(E) or (F) on the front, the rear says 5.7L G .i can't make out the rear casting number opposite that one ,the guy i'm buying it from said the casting number is 14813287 ,he also said it was an old state police vehicle , heavy duty, oil cooler, etc. with all the options, but i think that the number he gave me is a replacement part number from the dealer. any help will be appreciated , thanx matt

i know its been a while since this was posted but i might be able to help if you still need it. the number on the front passenger side is the serial number and the casting is on the drivers side at the back of the block near the bell housing. The casting number will also be all number and no letters This site will help with looking up casting number and will also show you the location http://www.mortec.com/
