Its kind of hard to diagnose a car over the internet, but I'll see what I can do. Is it carbureted, throtle body, or tune port? I had a camaro with similar problems, when I would press on the gas quickly the engine would die but if I pressed on it slowly it wouldn't die. I found out it was the EGR valve and it took care of that problem. Did the car come stock with the manual tranny?
