KGRIFF -> 93 Suburban questions (3/15/2008 4:02:08 PM)

I am looking to buy a 93 suburban and had a few questions. It is a 2500 4x4 with a 454. I noticed in the engine bay there is a thing attached to the brake master cylinder that the guy said had something to do with the power steering. I am really not sure what it is but it appears to have a slow leak because it is oil coated around it and on the hoses below it, what would this be so I can guage a replacement price. I am trying to find out if the price is fair for the vehical. He wants $4500 for it I checked kelly blue book and edmunds and came up with a substantially different prices. This is what I know about it, it is a 2500 with a 454 automatic(showing some fluid leakage supposed to be a line leak), the body is in fairly good condition, the engine has a ticking type noise that I am fairly sure is a exhaust manifold the oil pressure seems ok, the brake booster thing leak,,, overall I would call it mechanically in fair condition I guess, and the body in good condition the interior in fair condition. It has 160000 miles on it. It was used to tow a camper. The guy is the original owner and it hasnt been in any wrecks. I guess I dont want to seem like a jerk to the guy because i causually know him I was going to offer him 3500 for it edmunds was around $2500 and kelly was $3800 in fair condition.
