I saw it and they said he was using it to boost his gas mileage from 30 something to 40 something which implies he was still using gas.  Looked like he had a mason jar with some wires to it and a hose coming off.  Not sure I'd want a glass anything under the hood.   Yeah, I know they used to have glass sediment bowls next to the carb but that was before underhood temps were hot enuf to grill steaks.  [:D]

Interesting but if it really used the atomic power of hydrogen then we'd have the blinding white flash accompanied by a mushroom cloud.  [:o]

Also was slightly amused that he said he could run on hydrogen alone but was currently using a mix.  One might ask why.

NoBrakes -> RE: hydrogen (5/16/2008 3:27:26 AM)

Many chemical drains are glass because of the great chemical resistance from corrosion.  I bet that is why he is using glass.  Is it possible that no Hydrogen can leak through glass?  I am not sure on what high temperatures would do to glass in a extended time period?

EuroGoldLS -> RE: hydrogen (5/16/2008 8:11:56 AM)

Glass has a supurb molecular structure and density, so it can hold hydrogen a lot better than other substances. Unfortunately with the crystalline structure comes inability to expand and contract with heat changes and with too drastic a heat change...shatter.

So other then Northey is anyone else trying this? This seems like it is turning out to be the scam thing I was warned about.  I hope Northey didn't pay $2000 to find this out.

Off to search the Internet for more info... G..

I don't think he has sunk that much money into it. We know for sure it works. The glass jars with electrodes you can buy are the gimmicks, they don't work like they should.

guvner -> RE: hydrogen (5/20/2008 11:33:03 AM)

That's what he posted he sunk in it a few posts back... I don't have the formula in front of me but unless I have this wrong you can easily separate the hydrogen from the oxygen but the energy cost defeats it. I'm not sure I'm reading this right or not but I still haven't seen a single person yet that seems to verify this works. And I've been looking. I've read about someone who stumbled upon a frequency that does it but once again that seems to have trouble with verification or reproducing the effect.

I finished mine, and it works fine but I have no mileage tests yet to report.  I used 100% white distilled vineagar and it is running pretty steady but Im gonna get some KOH and try that.  Im gonna run it without an O2 extender or EFIE and see how it goes.  If my gains regress or dont improve much at all Ill make adjustments wish me luck!

northey87 -> RE: hydrogen (5/20/2008 10:27:42 PM)

I have sunk quite abit into this project, mainly because every time I tired to order a part it wound being a lot more than what I expect, and by then I was committed. The tectnology works, but how well its works is another story. When I stopped on mine (do to leaving for summer brake and couldn't aford to drive it to CA and back) my unit putting out alot of gas, unfortunatly I didn't have time to test how much or get it rigged to the engine. Hopefully in September I will have the time to progress and get it work suffecently.

ehhget -> RE: hydrogen (5/21/2008 12:25:02 PM)

Just temporarily diconnected mine until later.  There was a little liquid being sucked into the intake along with the gas so I am going to put a trap in the out line and drain the liquid back into my fill tank.  Its a simple fix and I fully expected to have to add one but I figured I would try it without at first.
