I am looking for information on the possible engine swap for a 1988-92 Chevy Blazer/GMC Jimmy - 2WD.
I have seen the book published by JTR using the 305 swap.
Does anyone know of any publications that would help in swaping a 283 in place of the 4.3 V/6..
I would like to utilize the serpantine belt arrangement that is on the V/6.
I already know that the 700R4 automatic will hook-up just fine.
**I own a completely restored '55 Chevy Bel-Air Sport Coupe that has a 327 cu. in. V/8...   YES IS DRIVE IT A LOT....

Welcome to the forum!!! Your question may get better answers if you post it in the S-10 section. Assuming you want to swap the old V6 for a newer V6....Essentially the old Blazer/Jimmy 283 (4.3L) is the same as the new 282 (4.3L Vortec) The mounts and A/C should be the only major problems. The engine will fit just fine as far as size goes. With the EFI, you'll have to find a computer and wiring harnesses to go with it.
