My parents have a 1997 Suburban 1500 5.7L 4WD. It was having a problem where it would intermittently fail to start again after it was warmed up. The fuel pump was noisy and then stopped making any noise at all. My dad replaced it, the relay, and an associated fuse that was blown. However, no go. It won't start. Any suggestions as to what he should test and consider now would be greatly appreciated.

Never mind. He fixed it. He failed to reconnected a ground wire (didn't realize he had knocked it loose). Once he found that and took care of it, it started right up.

if you are having fuel issue like that you need to replace the filter. your relays wont really cause low fuel pressure. how ever if your filter is bad it may of weaked your pump to where the pump is no good.

Don't forget your fuel pressure regulator:) Also, on the 97 it could be a crank sensor?
