Hello All,

I'm new here and have an issue with my sound system in my 03 avalanche. A few weeks ago, i started the truck, and realized no sound was coming out of the speakers. The head unit worked fine (showed song names, changed CD's, showed cd's playing, etc). Could turn head unit on and off as well. I checked all fuses and nothing.

I went to the store, and after i left, i started the truck and boom, there was sound.

All was fine and good until today... same issue, but no sound. Anyone have any ideas or deal with these issues?

Its something to do with a wire behind the deck thats not making good contact. Or else it could be the amp inside the stock deck. How loud do you crank it?

sounds like a grounded speaker lead. probably a chaffed wired somewhere.
The radio turns off all audio to prevent damage

I had this same exact issue with my 03' Silverado LT with Bose system. At the time the truck was about a year old so I took it in to the dealer and they reprogramed the computer or head unit i'm not sure and it's worked fine ever since.
