Hi

I have a Geo prizm and I am having trouble with the starter. Sometimes it will just click when I try to star the engine. Do you think the problem is in the solenoid? Please give me your feedback on this problem.  Gill

The clicking indicates the solenoid is working, generally. Sounds like the bus bars on the armature are dirty and the electricity is not making it to the starter motor itself. Take out the starter, take it apart and clean the armature with a wire brush. Use small wires to hold back the brushes so you can put the armature back in easier.
