I was wondering if anyone has a flowmaster set up on a new body with the 4.8. Which set up do you have and how does it sound? I am having one installed, thought that I was going to go 70 series but I am afraid that won't be loud enough for me. How is cab resonation with the 40 series, I really feel that I would be more satisfied that way.
Thanks for any help

Josh

I have a 4.8 with a super 40 dumped under my bed, it sounds awesome!! Not too loud in the cab, just enough to let you know its there. But it rumbles like heck outside the truck!

Fireman526, I was considering just the original 40, is there much difference between the two? I am also pretty set on turning out at a 45 behind the wheels. Any thoughts? I just think that the 70 will not be loud enough for me. I want to have a nice rumble when sitting at the light and for others to know that I have the eshaust on there. Not just when I stomp on it. I have a 1 year old, but have another car that has an exhaust system on it that is somewhat noisy inside

I have a 40 series racing flow, with no cats on my 2000 silverado. It is really loud but doesnt have the "gargle" sound you get with a cheaper muffler, sounds really good, the sound changes around 2500 rpms, tht recognisable chevy sound lol.

The super 40 is louder inside and out accourding to flowmasters website. They have a chart. 40delta=loud
                                                                                                                            super40=louder
                                                                                                                            super44=loudest

check it out for yourself

If you want to hear it go original 40 or super 44 or you will be dissapointed.  I had the 50 before I switched to the original 40 and it was way way to quiet.

Fireman526 i was reffering to the original 40 series two chamber that is the equivelent to the new super 44 and is not the same as the 40 delta flow on the chart...
see difference here...
First super 40

So I just had the Flowmaster original 40 installed yesterday. I am soooo happy that I went with the 40 series over the 50 or 70. That sound is amazing. I love it... I would recommend that anyone that is wondering what is going to give them a great sound , you have to go original 40. I cruised down the highway about 10 miles and had the radio set at 14 and could still here the music just fine. There is noticeable sound inside the cab but not so much so that it bothers you. MAN I am happy with my secision, it is perfect!
