I'm putting a 454 in my 64 impala wagon and wondered if any body can offer any help as to problems i may encounter? looks like it might be tight between p/b booster and heater blower by firewall. this car is factory a/c, p/s, p/b, 327/powerglide.  how about headers? i plan to use the powerglide for now until i can get an overdrive in it.  thanks for any help

Im installing a 454 in my 61 impala im almost positive they have the same frame setup!! you will come very close the the booster and part way into the heater box!Im just going to shave my heater box and run a mojave heater! i have seen alot of guys run manual brake while running a big block or a smaller 7"/8" booster. Sanderson Headers makes a couple of header application for you 64 i believe

thanks for the info and link.  i've had several people mention sandersons so i'll try them.  probably go with a 7'' booster since i'm going with a disc brake conversion.  not sure if i want to cut my blower box though.

Sure no problem!! if you ever get a chance to go to a local Goodguys show they have tons of vendors there...Their are so many disc brake companies out their!! you could run manual brakes but it just not as an easy stop :) im pretty some of the guy i talked to were running the 7-8 in max...Happy building!!
