hey to all, was wondering what kind of city MPG you guys are getting with the 5.3ltr? at the moment for "winter" time (any where from 15-40 degree temps) im getting around 13.5-14. driving farily conservativley. mods done are in my signature. i have been running penzoil platinum oil for 2 oil changes and this weekend will probably switch over to Royal Purple. thanks to all.

I had a 2006 1500 crew cab z-71 (3:73 gears and 265r-17 tires) and in the city I would easily get 15-16. When it gets real cold out the warmup would pull the average down but it has to get below 20f to really have a major effect. On the Highway I would get 18-23 depending on which way the wind was blowing but 19-20 was the norm. I just traded my 06 in for a 1 ton crew cab 08 with a 6 liter. Now I get about 11-12 in town and can get 15mpg at 72mph. Anything over that and it starts making a bad sucking sound as the gas guage drops. (4:10 gears and 265 optioned 17in tires single wheel, not dually) I really miss that mileage of the 06 but the new truck is sweet!
