Hello,
I have had a 1984 305 given to me. I would like to put it in my 94 c/k1500 that currently has a well worn 4.3. My question or should I say questions are.
What will I need to do to make this engine run with the tbi setup? I dont wanna get a different trans or switch to carb. Could I have the heads modified in a way that the tbi manifold will fit. Any help or advise I can get would be great and thanks. Long live AMERICAN made!

Hey man, Im not quite sure what you mean.  4.3 is a six, do you want to keep that existing manifold and put it on a the 305 heads and block?  If thats what you're asking I think you're out of luck.
Go American!!

What I was wondering is can I take a manifold from a newer 305 with tbi and make it work on the older heads. I know I will need an ecu for the 305. I want to keep the 4l60e tranny that I have and just put in the v-8. I was just trying to see if anyone one here has done so before. I know the 305 is no power house but compared to my 4.3 its got to be better.

I would say all you need is a 305/350 tbi intake and maybe a differant ecm. I ran a 4.3 TB on a 5.7 and it worked fine. If the intake bolts don't line up right just make them a little bigger with a drill.  I used 1987 CENTER bolt heads on a older style edlebrock intake and that's what i did
