Hey Brent, where did you get your kit from, and how much was it? Im looking to buy some soon too, looking for a good kit. I want 6000k though. Make sure you post some pics when you get them installed! Did your kit come with relays in the wiring harness?

Ya they come with relays. If not, I would not have ordered them [;)]. I ordered them from "HIDwarehouse" or something like that... on ebay. I'll see how it goes, If I don't like the 5000k, I may swap bulbs. They may be a little too blue for my liking. I want pure white for the functionality of pure white. I'll definately post some pictures soon. Next week sometime.

5000K should be good! 4100k is stock white, 5000k has a little color in it(honestly, barley noticable), 6000k has a little more, and so on and so forth.

4300 is the peak white.... USPS said that it was processed at Cheyenne, WI yesterday at 7pm. I'll guess they will be here wednesday.

Maybe it depends on the vehicle which kelvin temp is oem white. My dads BMW says 4100K is oem white. Ive had 4100k, 6000k, and 8000k before, three diffrent brand kits. The first kit I bought off ebay sucked and I had problems with it all the time. I think it was a McCollouch or something like that. The best kit I had was 6000k Philips Ultinon, but you cant find them anymore. I had a complete headlight replacment conversion on my old body style f-150, they were called xenarc 4100K, they were the brightest by far, I wish xenarc still made HID's for other vehicles, but I guess they didnt sell too well. I loved mine, one of the best investments on the truck. I actually sold them with the clear corners for more than I paid for them 2 years later on ebay. Thats when they were sold out everywhere.

The ones I ordered are G.E. 4300K is the absolute whitest. Different manufacturers have different OEM whites. Most american made cars with HIDs will have 41-4300K. The 00-02 GMC envoys hids were 4300k with a 100K margin, which means it could be anywhere between 4200 and 4400K, but it imperceptable to the human eye. BMW and Mercedes Benz models have 4100k HIDs and Lincoln Navigator/Aviator HIDs are 5000K with purple filters. Other vehicles with HIDs like Nissan Muranos and other Japanese cars are usually 3900k.

I cant believe Lincoln would put filters over the arc tubes, everything that I ever read said those were the crappiest designs. Thats just like buying blue coated bulbs. When you filter any color out of the light spectrum, it not only changes the color, but diminishes the light output. My Philips 6000K arc tubes were purplish/white, but they had no filters, the salts in the tube and noble gases made the color. I wonder who the manufacturer is for the HID's in Lincoln? Thats a poor design. Ive noticed the big misconception with HID's is that people want that bluish/purple color like on Caddillac, BMW, Mercedes, Corvette or any other HID system that uses a projection lense, so they order the 8000K but are disappointed. Truth of the matter is, those vehicles, like you said, use 4100-4300k with a projector. The bluish/purple color comes from the "cut-off" line from projector. You'll notice as the vehicle bounces up and down the road the color hits you then goes white then hits you again. No HID projector, no cut off line, no color. I bought some projector headlight assemblies for my old truck and put in HID's and didnt get the color cut-off line. You have to use HID projectors. There use to be a guy on my old forum that bought BMW HID projectors and would take apart the factory headlight housing and install and alighn the new projector, then put it back together. I had him do mine. It cost me $400. It was well worth it. I put the 6000k Philips kit in them and they looked spectacular!!! Better than oem, imo. Everybody commented on them. Wish I could get ahold of him again.

Yeah. Lincoln lights look purple no matter how you look at them. The spectrum line at the cutoff looks even more purple. The HIDs in Lincolns are 55w, so they produce a lot of light output to begin with. I doubt the filter would have much of an affect with the ability to see, but they still dont allow the bulbs to perform at their best.
