I have a 1998, 1500 express conversion van, it runs great, but recently started seeing that the oil pressure gauge is not in the center as it is supposed to be when driving, it's always below the quarter mark, and when I slow down, it gets to the empty line, then the CHECK GAUGES light comes on. I'm wondering if there something wrong with the oil pump, or can somebody please advise me what to do. I went to Pepboys but they could'nt help.

That could be a bad problem, I would try a new sending unit first. The oil pressure comes from the oil being pushed between the bearings and the crank. It's like putting your thumb over the end of a water hose, smaller opening more pressure, if you indead are running that low you may need to at least partially rebuild your engine. If it is as simple as a sending unit or gauge your good, if that dosen't fix it I wouldn't drive it a lot until you get it figured out.
Good luck!
