Gryphon -> RE: lets talk mpg (2/18/2008 11:15:29 AM)

I get 17 with my Burb. I get 15-ish with my Jeep CJ7. I got 20 with my Chrysler Town&Country minivan. If I back off the go-pedal a bit and run 65-70 instead of 75-80, I get 18+ mpg. Loaded. I'm planning a cold-air intake with hi-flow filter, should be good for 1-1 1/2 mpg. Not much, but it should pay for itself in a few months. Keep your tires inflated and rotated. Highway treads will net better mpg than off-road tires. Change your oil, trans fluid and axle fluids. Pack your wheel bearings, grease your u joints, keep it clean, change your air filter. Keep it tuned up right, check/clean/gap your plugs, etc. You know where this is going: proper maintenece wil help get you every bit of efficiency your rig is capable of.
