What do you mean when you say it wants to kick a little? does it crank over and just not start or does it kind of stumble when you try to crank it? Are you sure it's not just a bad batt/connection or starter?

what kind of truck is it exactly?

THE TRUCK IS A GM 2500HD 4X4 6.0 ENGINE ...WE PUT THE PLUGS BACK IN AND NOW IT STARTS FOR ABOUT 2-3 SECONDS AND SHUTS OFF ??? IT SEEMS THAT THERE IS SOMETHING WRONG WITH THE BCM ... THE SECURITY LIGHT COMES ON WHEN IT SHUTS OFF AND YOU TRY IT AGAIN AND IT DOES THE SAME THING ...THE GUY SAID HE DROVE IT A COUPLE HUNDRED MILES SHUT IT OFF AND WENT ICE FISHING AND WHEN HE TRIED TO START THIS IS WHAT IT DID TO HIM.... WE ASKED A FEW OTHER TECHIES AND THATS WHAT THEY THOUGHT WAS WRONG WITH IT TO ...BUT THE 2500 SNAP-ON THAT WE HAVE WILL NOT TEST THE BCM, BUT THEY TOLD ME THAT THAT A TECH 2 SCANNER WILL .....?????  IS THERE ANOTHER WAY OTHER THAN THE TECH 2 SCANNER THAT WILL DO THE JOB OR NOT ???? THANKS IN ADVANCE ....JIM

have you tried testing the ICM(ignition control module)? How old is the snap-on scanner? It should be able to test it.

If you really think the bcm or pcm might be bad it might not be a bad idea to pull up a pin-chart on it and test some of the respective pins.
