TrkMas3122 -> COLD WEATHER SCREECHING SOUND COMING FROM BELT? (2/12/2008 6:03:12 AM)

HI all,
I have a 2003 TrailBlazer and everytime i start it up after it has been sitting a while, there is a "screeching sound" that sounds like its coming from a belt. the sound starts off slow then picks up a little. After the car has warmed up, the sound stops. This only happens in cold weather. I thought i had my belts replaced so i dont know what it could be. Any ideas?

Did you get your belt replaced for sure??

When the engine is cold, slip the belt off and check the idler to see if its bearing is dragging.
