Quick question...hope someone can help. This is my first Malibu and I love it. I got a low coolant alarm on the readout on the radio. After checking the fluids while the vehicle was running I noticed that the fan was not turning. And me not knowing...should the fan run all the time or in the Malibu will it turn on and off as needed? The temperature gauge was showing the car at its normal running temperature... I'm lost and wonder if I'm just worrying too much or if this is something that I need to take action on immediately. Thanks ahead of time to all those that help!! Nat

The fan only comes on when it is needed. usually around 3\4 of the way to hot. Also the fan should run on and off regardless of temp when you have the a\c going or have the defrost on. But also mind you, that the a\c won't turn on if the outside ambient temp is too cold

the fan is electric in them, it only comes on when its needed, this way no more pully or fan belt in your car...less maintence for you.
