The max tow rating of a 5.3L Tahoe with 4.10 and also a 6.2L Escalade is not power limited, the max tow rating is derived from the vehicles ability to safely stop a loaded trailer (brakes) as well as the strength of the suspension and frame.

The 6-speed transmission will be standard on all GMT900 half ton GM trucks and SUV's for 2009.

You mentioned ordering starts in April. When do you expect to see a 2009 on the lot?

sweet 6 speed! I guess this means delaying my Tahoe order until 2009... any EPA MPGs on the 6 speed? Everyone seems to be adding more gears (5-6 speed autos)... is it worth the weight? I see ford uses a 5 speed right? but the chevy 4 speed gets more MPG... Will they give us a flappy paddle gearbox too?

Two gears don't weigh all that much. Ford uses a 6-speed in Expedition. Anybody else care to answer why a Chevy (that has more horsepower and fewer gears) gets better fuel economy than Ford's best effort? The 2009 Tahoe 4X4, 5.3L w/6-speed auto is projected to get 15/20 MPG.

I'm curious if there will be any changes to exterior/interior color selections? I've seen white diamond in person on a Tahoe and it is stunning. Blue granite is pretty sharp too!

If the milage is the same; then why add more gears?
