Hey guys, sorry to bring up a LONGGGG reported post, but I just bought my new vehicle and needed some guidance.

I bought a 2007 GMC Yukon, which came with rear entertainment system in the headrests, and DVD loads into the head rests themselves.  Can run 2 different DVDs at the same time (one in each headrest).  It also came equipped with the Bose system.  I am looking to add the NAV system, and rear parking camera.  My question is which parts would I need?  Would I need the 15940102 NAV system since I have rear entertainment system already????

Thanks in advance for any and all help!!

Don

i just installed a navigation system in my 2007 Tahoe with backseat entertainment system.  I have two questions and would really appreciate any / ALL information that you have.

1) everything works great with my navigation ( 15940102)  except it doesn't have voice reconization.  Is there a fix to this problem?

2)  also has anyone ever installed a camera to this system and if so have you run into any problems.

a big THANKS
Patrick

Do you have the VSS wire connected properly? How are you using the voice command? You have to press the button on the right of the steering wheel (the one above the radio plus & minus volume controls), wait for the beep and say "Navigation go to Phoenix Arizona" (which would have been already programmed into the address book and a voice tag added in the address book).

For the aftermarket Kenwood CCD-900 camera install - I posted earlier directions with pictures on how I did it - you can find it here (it is a Word document) http://home.earthlink.net/%7Egenestoy/kenwood/camera_install.doc

Hope that helps some
Gene

Here is a link when I did mine on this forum http://www.chevroletforum.com/m_5604/mpage_16/key_/tm.htm
who installed yours? I am surprised that the nav works without it.

Also the voice commads have to be already programmed into the address book location - have you done that?

What happens when you press the button and say "Onstar"? It should come back and say "Onstar Ready" if it does not then you have other issues and I would take it to the dealer because that would have nothing to do with the nav unit unless somebody did something to the Onstar box while installing the nav unit.
