Hi
My name is Cindy & I have a 1980 Chevy with a engine transplant. We are in need to finding out the year of engine that is in it. Can anyone help me?

Welcome to the forum, Cindy! You may want to try posting your question with more detail (engine size, features, case numbers) in our Silverado section (it covers all chevy fullsize trucks). I hope you find what you need! Be sure to check out our other sections as well.  Use our search function at the top of the page to find good info faster too!

Welcome to the Chevrolet Forum.  I believe some of the block casting numbers translate to the date code.

Can you see the casting number on the block?
What size engine is it?
What side is the dipstick on?
Try asking on
