I was wondering if we can have regional chapters. This way local meets from certain parts of the country can be set up.  Like for instance, North East chapter, North West chapter, etc.

I agree 100%, that is a great idea!! Another car forum I was a member of for a long time had this and it worked out so well. The regions where divided into Northwest, Southwest, Central, Northeast, and Southeast. And for each region, underneith would be listed in smaller print all the states encompassed in that region. For example:  SOUTHWEST
california, nevada, utah, arizona, colorado, new mexico, ect..

Inside the forum, seperate threads were created "officially" for all the big cities in the state. This was great becasue it was a chance for people who lived locally to each other to meet up, build friendships, do things together as a group and hit the custom car and truck seen. Its just another way to build "brotherhood". For my city to this day they have 56,000 hits and just over 6,000 replies. Yall want activity, this might be a way.
If you want to check out the site im speaking of and their layout its www.newtiburon.com

I think yall should strongly consider adding regions to CF

Thanks,
Josh

It will be a while before we can do anything of that nature... I think Patrick is still reconstructing the site map and getting everything in order to do our redesign.
After the redesign and a little more growth, we may can pull this off.   You have to remember though, all the forums that have regional sections are a lot bigger than our forum.

I see your point. I think we need to get the word out that CF exists. Not just through a browser search, but through advertising. FREE advertising, almost. Works great. Hear me out. I live in a big city, over a million people. I see lots of GM cars and trucks with a small red or white sticker on the back or front window that says " LS2.COM". Turns out, thats a GM performance forum. I would have never known about it had I not seen those stickers everywhere. Heres my point. Its cheap to make a 5" long by 1" or 1 1/2" tall sticker in one or two colors, especially if you buy them in bulk. Sell them on the forum for what it cost to make them plus shipping and ask people to support the website. Explain why advertising is important. If people start seeing CF stickers popping up everywhere, I guarantee we'll get an influx in new membership. We've got to get the word out. Newtiburon.com did the same thing, look how many members they have, not saying they all came from that, but im sure it helped.

So what do you think? I think its a good idea. Talk it over with the other Mods and give it some thought. Its a cheap way to build the site up and you can recoupe most of the cost back. You could also do another poll, and explain the situation and how it would help, and ask how many members would buy one and put it on their vehicles. Then you would know if it would be worth the time and investment up front.

Just a thought.

I've given that idea a good amount of thought before. What we'll do is get anyone that wants to, make a design that says www.chevroletforum.com with maybe a little logo or something with various fonts. Then we'll pict the best ones and bring them up for voting. The winning design will then be put into PDF format for anyone to download and take strait to a vinyl shop.

Thats a great idea Brent! Maybe you should start a thread in the News, Ideas and Announcments forum explaining the whole process and what its all about. Then all the talented minds and computer folks can put something together and post their ideas and just like you said, you can take the best ones and form another thread with a poll. Lets do it!

I've already got a Blazerforum sticker... http://i260.photobucket.com/albums/ii10/BEblazin4life/105_0024.jpg

I'll send a PM to m00nwater over on the blazerforum and ask her how the whole operation went... then I'll set up the thread.

I've PMed the admin (Patrick) and he said that we need someone on the forum who will make the decals, or who knows someone that will make them. I proposed that we do it through quickshirts. Their home base is about 6 miles from my place. They have a website you can go on and you can e-mail the file to him and he can cut them out for you for like $20 + postage. www.quickshirts.com
Patrick also said that we have to be careful with what we put in the decals. We can't put the chevy logo because its a copyright violation. Ford has actually com after several forums for using the mustang horse emblem.

I made a design that I plan to enter if we hold a contest for it.

Its the outline of the Zr1 corvette...
