I am a new owner of a 2007 2.2L HHR. I am trying to figure out how to remove the plastic engine cover. When I "gently" pull up on it it goes nowhere. It seems like it is screwed on to something else below it (the spark plug housing?).

Is it really supposed to just pop off when you pull up on it? Or am I missing something here?

Any assistance appreciated.

Yes it will pop off but you must undo the claps holding the air intake from the top left and the bottom.A simple flat head will do.
