POR15 for metal parts and LMC Truck (do a google search, and get their free catalog) for replacement parts, grill, trim and knobs. Spend some quality time either at the car wash, or at home with a good pressure washer and blast out all the nooks and cranies, the underside, in behind the trim...everywhere. I'm guessing you live in the snow belt (aka RUST belt)...like you mentioned, washing is really key to preventing rust. Otherwise, basic maintence: oil changes on time, filter replacements and such, all go a long way to longevity and economy. Basic driving style helps a lot too. Consistancy seems the key there; drive it the same all the time. The engine breaks in to runing at certain rpm ranges and does best staying there. Remember axle and trans fluid changes too! Lots of folks NEVER change their differential fluid! Auto transmissions MUST have clean fluid and filters to live, and don't get them hot. Towing can drive the trans temps up and kill your fluid in a short time.
