I have a '96 Lumina LS with the 3.1 SEFI engine. today i was driving to work and my low coolant light came on. when i got to work (about .5 miles later) I checked my reservoir, and it was empty, i then checked the actual radiator, and the level of coolant was too low to see. there are no problems with the feed or return hoses, and i couldn't find any other leaks. i feared a blown head gasket, so checked the oil. it registered very high on the dipstick, and was light brown and frothy, which makes me think the gasket blew allowing coolant into the oil. does this seem like the most likely answer, and how difficult is the gasket to replace? I have some basic mechanical skills, and was considering trying to do the repair myself. any suggestions? also, how much should i expect to pay for parts?

Probably just an intake leaking internally, the only way to check for a cracked head is do a block test. Parts will probably be around 200.00
