Spudweiser -> 2000 Silverado Blown ECM Fuse/Dealer wants $980.00 (8/6/2006 10:23:27 PM)

First of all thanks for all your help in advance. I have a 2000 Chevy Silverado, 2WD V6 4.3L. As I was at a stop light, my truck shut off and would not restart. Take it to dealer and instantly he states "Fuel Pump" Next day I get a call, they want $980 for a GM(life) or $875 for a Napa (1yr). I tell them NO WAY!. $90 later for the diagnosis, He states that it is now driveable but the ECM fuse may blow again. After 1 week of driving about 100 miles, I was sitting idle in a parking lot and truck shuts off again. Another Blown ECM fuse 20amp. Change fuse and truck starts up and is still running (4 days). Fuel Gauge is constantly flickering from 1/4 to full. Check engine light came on right before this all happened but since dealer got a hold of it, there are no caution lights on. I don't understand how I can even drive it at all with a bad fuel pump. Hope someone has some answers. Thanks John
