Am I stuck with an S-10 5 speed, or will any other GM transmission bolt up?

The 4.3 Evolved from the 5.7 so they are pretty close to being identical blocks.  Im pretty sure you can bolt any Transmission up to a 4.3 that will bolt up to a 5.7.  I do know for a fact that my 95 4.3 has the same bolt pattern as the transmission in a 95 K1500.  However the cluch, pressure plate, throwout bearing, and slave cylinder are slightly different, and I do believe that the 95 4.3 and 5.7 use the same flywheel.  This is why a V8 Conversion in these trucks is fairly easy.  I hope this helped.
