I just installed a S&B cold air intake on my '95 1500 and I love it. It was about the same price as the KN version I just more impressed with the S&B because it replaces the intake box in the fender which makes it bring in true cool air and not just the air in the engine compartment. I was also impressed with the filter they use, it lets more air flow than a stock paper filter, but not as much as the KN. But here is something to consider, the KN flows better but it also lets more dirt into the engine, where as the S&B had even better filtration than a stock paper filter. If you want the #'s, there all on the website www.sbfilters.com and the link to there filter info is, http://www.thetruthaboutfilters.com/. there is video and a lot of other info you take the time to look at it. I hope this helps.

Sorry I forgot to mention that I gained from 1 -4 MPG haulin' a load, but I also installed a cat back system at the same time, so I can't contribute all the gain just to the intake system.

i put on a K&N cold air intake and i noticed a much better throttle response and compared to stock it was better. noticed a wonderful power increase. but to compliment the intake you have to have a less restrictive exhaust... so i put glasspacks on and chopped the muffler off.

I have a 5.3L 2007 Silverado and plan to put a Volant Intake on it soon. I had one on my 2005 Tahoe and it's the best cold intake on the market. I've had a K&N on a Jeep Grand Cherokee but did not like the open air box. You get what you pay for!

I don't know what the prices are that you're looking at, but think of it this way- you could spend $150 on something that might work well, or $200 for something thats well known to perform. know what i mean?

Thx i kinda liked the s&d myself i caught my eye, i may go with tht one. I have flow masters, and no cats so my exhaust is not restricted at all. Also im thinkin of getting headers as well so the next step will be a chip i suppose.?.?

If you put a S&B filter system lets me what you think and if it makes a difference. I have noticed that there are hardly anyone out there that have put one on their vehicle, I don't know wheather they are new or just have poor advertising. If think www.autoanything.com is having a sale on air intakes right now, this is where I bought mine there, but I thinks JEGS sells them too.
