Ouch!  I still have my engine thankfully but I'm only at 50K.  I wish you the best of luck on the new vehicle!   I'd always heard it was wise not to buy the first edition of a new model, but never was warned about the last (my 2004 Cavalier, last of the breed).   It's such a big investment when you are paycheck to paycheck and I understand how highly upsetting and disruptive it can be to not have your transporation.  I have taken at least 5 days off of work to deal with my car in the past year, officially half of my vacation time. I don't know what I will buy next time, but I think I'll go back to buying used cars since my new car seems to be programmed to self-destruct precisely when the warranty expires!

Of course I'm fired up, I owe $6000 on car that I'm fed up with.

My parents had Cavaliers run to over 150K and so did I with good maintenance, which is why I bought what I did.  It isn't the same anymore, sadly.

And in Ohio, the Lemon Law only kicks in if you've had the same problem three times in under 18K miles.

"I'm sure your back door opened because you didn't close it properly."
How condescending of you. Yes, I closed the door properly. I know how to close a door. Thanks for the assumption, much appreciated.  The latch was stuck.  I pulled over into the first safe place I could and pulled it down by hand so it would catch.  Yes, I'm a girl and I got my hands dirty!  And yes, thank you, I sprayed it with WD-40 that day.  It still doesn't work, I just don't open that door anymore.

And yes, a red light on my rear view mirror is a distraction while driving. That's why it's red, it's purpose is to catch your attention.

Best advice I can give you is to sell it and let the new owner take over payments or trade it and get something else. If you do not like Chevrolet anymore, go ahead and get what you think will be best for you..

I wasn't saying you don't know how to close a door. I'm saying that it would have been obvious that it wasn't latched when you put it down.

I'm absolutely sorry if I have pissed you off.  Please calm down.  One more irrational response from anyone and the topic is closed.

Has he taken any advice from anyone yet?  I think i posted a what to do on it. I hope he takes a Little advice and tries to fix the problem at another dealership. All do not work in the same fashion, one cares and the other don't know how to fix problems they put a band aid on it and hope it goes away. If your mine is made up no one can change that and that is the way it goes.... I think we are all here to help in some form or fashion.
Just hope you can get something that will make driving a little easier for you.
