Has anyone ever changed the bearing in the A/C Compressor Clutch. I have seen that i can now purchase just the bearing for about $20.  But havent spoke with anyone that has done the task. I just want to make sure that this is somthing that can be changed and the parts companys do not have it mis-labled.

Been busy sorry for not posting sooner.
The bearings you can buy for the clutch compressor at your local parts store will not work. The clutch has a bearing that is pressed into place then staked. I ended up buying a used compressor for around $100 (26 k milage). after that it was fairly easy to change out the clutch. I needed to remove the fan and the shroud (mabey able to get by with out this, but i doubt it). then used a strap wrench to hold the clutch while i loosened the center bolt. Then I used a pair of snap ring pliers to remove the outer part of the clutch (outer part contains the bearing). Removed the clutch of my new compressor and put it on my TB. Most places will tell you they have to change the entire compressor (my quotes ranged from 750 to 1130). this entire thing only cost me $100. Truck sounds like brand new again.
