I boughtto to drive to and fromwork in (over 100 miles a day) it looks like it will be a good car for me. But I was just wondering what commen problems thses cars have? thanks!

Newbie here too. Just bought a 2003 coupe, 81,000 miles.  Going to use it as a commuter, 80 mile round trip daily.  First tank got right at 30 mpg, but after I give it a complete tune and fluid change should get 32-35 mpg ( according to other posters on this forum ).  Lot better than my Subaru Outback Turbo, uses high test and gets 20-24 mpg.

i had one from 04-07

95 cavalier 4 door, finished with 120,000 miles, bought myself a new silverado after a transmission pump went out

other than that, it ran good, just needed the occasional brake job due to my sisters horrible driving

I have a 2004 and have had nothing but problems with it. It only has 42,000 miles on it and I've had to replace the gas tank because of a crack, I've had lots of problems with the brakes and now my headlight quit working (yes, I've changed the bulb and fuse). In other words, everytime I turn around either the "check engine" or "service" light is on. Seems like it's mostly emissions. It'll be my last Cavalier for sure.

That is a young car, maybe you would not have so much trouble if you didn't drive the s#$t out of it and took better care of it.

Ayways my Aunt had a Cavalier (bought brand new in 92 I think) that when she traded it in for a new one last year had 430,xxx on it and still got 30 mpg+. She had to replace the horn, an alternator, battery, and a leaky water pump. No other problems than that. As long as you take care of it, any car will last forever.
