I have a 2005 trailblazer LS with 70,000 miles. The Service 4x4 soon comes on once and a while, 4x4 works fine when switching from 2hi to 4awd or to 4 hi most of the time, but then all of a sudden light will come on, and all lights on 4x4 switch goes out and now 4x4, Shutting truck off and setting for a minute or two, usually cures the problem for a few days or a week or so. Will Autozone and or other auto store be able to scan this to see what the deal is even if the light has gone off? I want to save service fee by dealer if possible

Does your tyruck have the 3 or 4 button 4 wheel drive switches? I had the same kind of problem with 2001 blazer. Got a NEW 4x4 switch and it works great now. I got it from autozone.com part is about 50+. Hope this helps

IS IT THIS SWITCH? MINE DOES IT TOO...ALL I DO IS JUST WAIT FOR IT TO GO AWAY

I had the same problem about two years ago while mine was still under warranty. The dealership fixed it and told me that it was nothing but a software fix. I would call your dealer and ask if there is a software upgrade available.
