Finishing up some light hauling, I found that I could not get this 1994 Silverado into Park. It will go into every other gear, plus I can get it from 2H to 4H and back again, but still won't return to Park. Any ideas?

shifter cable is frayed...that will cause it not to go into park or other gears....is it winter season where you are....check and make sure there isnt ice built up around shifter linkage...you can also take the shifter linkage off next to the transmission. (of course chalk the tires) if u take the linkage off and can get it into park manually then you for sure know it is the cable, but im almost positive that its the cable...i had the same problem..easy fix..takes about half hour to change out and costs about 100 bucks for the cable at the dealer, thats the only place to get the cable...hopefully that helps, let me know!
