thinking of getting a soft tonneau cover for my '03 silverado short box, anybody have any info or experience with these. I'm kinda thinking about the extang fulltilt because you can either roll it up, or tilt the whole thing up like a hard tonneau.

Extang is a great choice.  If decide you don't need the tilt try the tuff tonneau III.  It looks great, has no snaps and is really well priced.  I bought my father one for his 03 for about $200 shipped.  shop around.

Now $222 shipped

The dealer sells a great cover, though it's priced almost double what others have suggested.

i got a lund cover from jcwhitney and its fine. the leather look and its a soft top. great seal around the tailgate and all around the bed. i got a short bed extended cab and yeah i love it. i forget the wording about the snaps but they arent metal exactly and so it wont scratch but are really durable... ive heard of some soft tops falling off down the highway in 50 degree weather. ive driven 80 down a highway with snow fall and it was fairly cold... well below 50. it hold up lovely. just make sure to read reviews on the covers... time consuming but it will help A LOT!

I have the Extang low profile velcro rollback unit on my truck and it really looks great.  From what I researched, they are a quality product.

ive got a truxedo lo profile cover and i like it ,1 tip do not use aftermarket stick on bed cap's unless you have stake pocket holes and penda hide a hook tie down anchors to keep  the caps from lifting when you clamp the cover on .
