I HAVE A BASE MODEL 04 IMPALA, AND THE TRUNK LID INSIDE IS NOT CARPET COVERED. WERE THE HIGHER END MODELS COVERED?
I ALSO HAVE AN 08 LS THAT THE LID IS COVERED, AND LOOKS MUCH BETTER, SO I WOULD ADD THE TRIM TO THE 04 IF IT WAS AN OPTION. (08 LID IS DIFFERENT SIZE, SO 08 TRIM WONT FIT)

They're just no t covered. I've got an 04 SS and the trunk lid has no carpet either. I have a custom trunk lid cover with a big Impala emblem on it. Made with wood and lined with vinyl. It looks 10 times better now.
