I have a 95 silverado with 189,500 miles on it and it still looks clean and sharp.  Doesn't burn any oil or leek any fluids, but i may need a different tranny within 30,000 miles since between 1st and 2nd gear the rpms pick up between shifts... I hate the sound of it.  Otherwise it's all bone stock.

I have seen tons 1990 to 1998 trucks with 200,000 to 300,000 miles so you will be fine. My friends 1998 has 300,000 miles on it and he has had to do the trans. rear and but motor and ac and what not are all stock. Good luck with your truck.

I bought my '97 pickup used with just under 2,000 miles on it. It is a 1/2 ton worktruck that had been owned by U-Haul and had been hit on the side. Looked to me as though someone had stolen it and taken it for a joy ride. At the time, I had just started my business and didn't have a lot of money to put towards a truck. So I took a chance and bought it, thinking a year or two maybe. I put a 200 gallon lawn sprayer in the bed and pulled a 3000# trailer (I know, I know...) with it. It is now 11 years old, has 277,000 miles on it, original engine, 2nd tranny (which GM replaced free of charge). Runs like a top. Normal wear and tear but nothing bad. Just finished repainting in-house. Redid the interior - new floor covering, fixed the coffee holder. Looks like a brand new truck. Every day during the growing season it gets loaded down with fertilizer, a tank full of water, a trailer full of equipment and it goes out and makes me $$$. I greatly prefer it to my '99 chevy pickup - just a much better machine. My guess? 500,000 miles.
