Hey, I am new to the forums so bare with me. My silverado has not been able to start. We have checked spark and we have a good spark. We have checked the fuel pressure and it seems to be ok but not sure. There is the little thing by the carb that lets out gas pressure. We checked that and it sprayed but have not checked the actual pounds behind it. The fuel filter seems to be original. It will turn over just fine but it will not fire. The fuel pumps also are running fine if anyone wanted to know that! Like I said it is an '01.If anyone has suggestions or needs more information please let me know asap. I need to get this on the road soon!! Thanks in advance!

Maybe the fuel filter is clogged up. Do you get a strong fuel smell?

No, we do not get a fuel smell at all. But as I said we got good pressure up near the carb and now everything smells like gas. Anyways we have been told a few options and this was one of them. It has been cold out and we thought maybe it was a fuel line freeze up. We put some dry gas in and that didn't work. I have ran the truck down to where you are on "p" for push ya know. So I am thinking this may be correct (fuel filter clogged up) and we sucked some stuff out of the bottom of the tank. Another option we were told was the control modual. As I said in my last post the filter looks original and it is an '01! If you believe this is it let me know. Thanks!

Hey, Thanks for all of the help and advice. It ended up being the fuel filter or the distributer cap/roter. We replaced the distributor first and it still didn't fire then we tried the fuel filter and it didn't work. We put a scope on it and it said that it was getting too much air. So we put the air cleaner back on and it fired right up. Just for a future reference! Thanks again.

Well I thought it was the fuel filter/ cap and roter. It did end up being the fuel pump. We put it on the scope again and it seemed to not be getting enough fuel pressure. Just letting everyone know for a reference for anyone else who is having the same problem. Thanks again everyone for suggestions and answers!!! Sincerely, Zayde
