02 4.3 81K (oil change every 3K w/Vavoline Max Life 10w30w) with start up lifter noise. Seems to be on the right bank. Seems to be worse in 40 degree or colder. Been adding a 1/2 pint Marvel Mystery oil to see if it was a peice of trash in the lifter I quits after a fresh oil change & the 1/2 pint MMO. When this happens the oil gauge will max out after you hit the gas. After the lifter(s) get quite the gauge works as normal. Getting ready to replace the intake gasket so should I replace all the lifters ? Or has anybody found anything on this or help with info ? Should the intake bolts be replaced ? TIA KDog

I'm pretty confident this will fix the problem, cause this is a cold-engine only concern. The next time you start your blazer cold pop your hood and have someone handy to assist. Start your truck and make sure you hear the noise, if it's there have them move you accelerator cable off of the PCV tube and see if the noise quits. The noise I'm talking about is actually the PCV rattling which is normal, but it transmits to the passenger compartment because the accel. cable is touching it. If that's your noise, just get a zip-tie and secure the cable away from the PCV tube. Let me know if this helps.
