I have a 1989 Chevy Cheyenne with a 4.3 v6 & want to swap it out for a v8. Any suggestions on a good year model? Will a 305 or 350 bolt on to the original tranny or do I need to swap tranny & all? Any help greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Any 350 will work. The 4.3 and the305/350 have the same transmission bolt pattern. But the 6 cylinder transmission is weaker than one that was put behind a v8.
