Kind of an odd question that I hope someone has the answer to. Does anyone know exactly how much weight and or wind resistance the factory luggage rack can hold on the roof of the 2005 Trailblazer? I am installing a weather instrumentation platform on the roof of the vehicle for storm chasing and wasn't sure if the factory racks would hold 40+ lbs of equipment at 100+mph windspeeds.

have you ever taken the racks off (i mean the nerf bars and all)  its hard putting them back because the screw holes just dont line up

the only reason why i did it was for my annual waxing of the roof
