I am fortunate to have two of these trucks: an 08 with the 5.3, and an 07 3/4 ton with the 6.0.

The 6.0 is a turd. 10-12 mpg. Tranny can't pick a gear. I am stuck with it, otherwise it would be gone. The sheet metal is so thin, that one harvest season has lead to more dings and dents than any of the 4 other Chevy's on the farm, including an 02.

On the other hand, I love my 08 1/2 ton.

There are also some people that don't need a 3/4 ton truck all the time but yet still buy one. I have one and I don't use it every day. I have an everyday job but I lay paver driveways and sidewalks on the side but i'm lucky to get 12.5 on the highway hauling nothing and with no load in the back. But also keep in mind that I have a 2002 and I live around the Ohio Valley so there are a lot of hills to deal with everyday. Believe me it gets old fillin that thing up.
