Hi, I have a 71 impala with a 400 small block, and I'm trying to locate a fuel pump. The problem is that the fuel pump on the car is not like the ones availble from the local parts store. The one on the car has 2 imputs with a larger housing, like a marine fuel pump. I think one of the lines is recovery return. My local Chevy dealer only shows parts as far back as 76. I could put a regular pump on it but then I have an extra line to contend with. Has anyone seen one of these before, and if so where can one be bought? Thanks for all replies.

my 1970 Monte carlo has the same thing. though at some point the previous owners simply put a bolt on the return line to cap it off. in 19 yrs Ive had the car- its not been a problem. I think it was some return line for unused fuel or something.

Twizzle12, That's it exactly. I searched the napaonline as well as my local NAPA store and they had never seen one. Thanks. rbarrious, I had a 1978 Mark Twain boat with a 3L 4 cylinder GM engine that had a similar fuel pump. I thought it was used because if the diaphram failed then the bildge wounldn't fill up with fuel. This car is a driver and I like to carry a few spare parts, so I wanted to able locate one. I figuired I could buy any Chevy small block pump and make it work. I'm just picking about having correct parts. Thanks again for all replies.
