They actually replaced the dash for electrical reasons. Hey don't forget to add to your bill an Allison trans. Being that the 4l60e can barely handle the 5.3l, I doubt it will handle the Duramax (assuming the housing matches up). I hope this article completely turns you off to this project. Sometimes I consider myself optimistic, but my gut is telling me this is going to be an expensive undertaking on your part.
