454 Suburban - 11/13/2007 9:04:12 AM    tru454chevy   Posts: 4 Joined: 11/13/2007 Status: offline Hi. im new to this forum but i think you guys know more about chevy then a v8buickcom. i just purchesed a 1979 rear wheel drive suburban  with an old 454 eng to be restored and used for other car. i might have some pic's later on, what engine will fit the best?  other than the 454 chevy ? i want to replce it with a smaller engine. the big block 454 is longer so the frame mounts are way out to the front and it, has a 400th trans. so i dont know what to replace it with, the easest and efficient maybe 350 or 305. or disel? < Message edited by tru454chevy -- 11/13/2007 6:17:24 PM > Post #: 1
