If both were stock, The Mustang has a 4.8L 280hp engine, the Camaro has a 5.7L 310hp engine, you do the math.

A GT500 yes would win, but a regular GT I dont know, no torque, HP is there but hte Camaro and the 5.7 pull V hard.....I tried in my 97 Cobra, SC, and a few other goodies, tried a formula firebird his was a 2001, 6 speed WS6 suspension, and 5.7 all the goodies, I was over 500hp, but the torque on the FB and the Camaros made it interesting till about 3rd gear, then I left him, but surprised me...

Both running stock 5.0. Got to say the Camaro. Mustangs have too much of a weight transfer from front to back, good for hooking up, not good for quick momentum. Camaro has a stiffer suspension travel in the rear, not bad for hooking up, but good for equal weight transfer. I try not to ride in Mustangs as often as I can.
