The fuel level sensor is bad in my 05 trailblazer. dealership wants $500+ tax to replace. I can get part for $100-$140.00. Any suggestions/help into replacing this myself?

I have the same problem on my 05 Trailblazer.  Had thought about trying to do it myself but the fuel tank has to be removed.  From what I understand it’s a pretty involved process to remove the tank, replaced the fuel sending unit, and reinstall the tank.  This vehicle has been one problem after the other.  I can hardly get one thing fixed before something else breaks.  I’ll be glad when the lease is up.  I will NEVER have another Trailblazer.  I like the vehicle but it keeps breaking.  I did find a mechanic that will fix it for around $400.00.  Let me know if you replace it yourself and how much trouble it is.
